Belle Da Costa Greene Exhibit

Belle da Costa Greene was a trailblazing figure in early 20th century American history.  As the librarian and director of New York's J.P. Morgan Library--now known as the Morgan Library & Museum--Greene was the first African-American woman to hold a major position in a prominent American institution, a role she held from 1905 to 1948.  During her career, Greene led the development and preservation of one of the largest private collections of art, manuscripts, and books in the world.
