Basic Searching Guide: Choosing a Database

An introduction to general searching techniques and concepts.

Choosing a Database

Now that you have your KEY TERMS you need to decide what type of resource you are looking for. The type of resource (i.e. article, book, video) you are looking for will help you determine which library database will best suit your needs.

Selecting a database is easy with A to Z Databases.

From your library's home page select A to Z Databases in the left hand menu. You will see a list all our databases in alphabetical order. From here you can sort the databases by subject area or database type. Select the subject area that best matches your topic. Use the information about the resource to determine if it is an appropriate resource for you.
